Position Summary:
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving company growth by identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding market research. This role involves leading sales and marketing initiatives, managing client relationships, and working cross-functionally to enhance the company’s competitive position. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial construction, along with associated service markets, and has a well-established industry network.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business development strategies to drive company growth.
- Identify new business opportunities with new customers and partnerships including general contracting, specialty contracting, and project in both the public and private sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners.
- Coordinate soft introductions and/or hand-offs of key clients with the respective HAYNES team as required.
- Collaborate with departments (i.e. profit centers, marketing, etc.) to enhance brand positioning and sales effectiveness.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to refine business strategies.
- Analyze market share potential and assist leadership with establishing market share goals.
- Aware of and well versed with regional competitors in the region’s construction and service market space.
- Aligning HAYNES, when applicable, in collaborative opportunities for joint ventures, construction management at risks, and design/build projects.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Create and present business development reports and performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Promote the HAYNES way.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in business development and sales required.
- Proven success in driving revenue growth and expanding market presence.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and transparency in their communication with executive leadership, ensuring that decisions are based on accurate information and objective analysis rather than simply aligning with expected viewpoints.
- Proven ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into actionable business strategies.
- High level of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written, verbal and public speaking communication skills.
