Position Summary:
The Drafter/BIM Coordinator will support the electrical construction division by interpreting sketches, specifications, and drawings to produce accurate technical drawings. This role will assist with BIM coordination, maintaining project documentation, and providing support to other divisions as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Project Managers to produce submittals, schedules, and installation plans.
- Support efforts of the Project Managers and Superintendents in coordination of projects
- Develop electrical, mechanical and fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD.
- Create or modify electrical and mechanical models for use in BIM coordination using Revit.
- Participate in online BIM coordination meetings and work to resolve space conflicts with other trades.
- Offer valid solutions to BIM conflicts.
- Utilize Procore, Viewpoint, and BIM360 for document management.
- Manage Autodesk subscription renewal service.
- Create panel schedules for the field in a prompt manner.
- Make or order labeling per specifications as needed.
- Print drawings as requested.
Requirements:
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
- Minimum of 1 year construction related experience.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to gain a working knowledge of electrical functions.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn various internal software program applications.
- Ability to handle multiple comprehensive tasks at one time.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present information and facilitate meetings with diverse project team members.
